Management Team Biographies

Daniel RobinDaniel N. Robin, founder & managing partner, has more than 20 years financial, executive/board, impact investing and venture catalyst experience. Specializing in clean technology project development and investment readiness, Daniel brings diverse industry experience in clean energy, renewable resources (food/water/forestry), waste-to-value, sustainable agriculture, health/nutraceuticals, biomaterials/green chemistry, IT/fintech, and real estate/housing.  Co-founder of Renewables Investor Forum (RIF), keynote speaker and conference chair.  Former adjunct professor at Monterey Institute of International Studies (MIIS, now Middlebury Institute), he and has taught entrepreneurship, business planning, impact investing, and innovation for sustainability within the top-10 ranked international MBA program in California.  Mr. Robin holds certificates in public speaking, coaching/facilitation, NeuroLinguistics (NLP Comprehensive, 1991), and Emerging Markets Credit (Moody’s Analytics, 2012).  [LinkedIn]

John J. Carroll, director of project finance, brings extensive experience in project development and finance across a wide spectrum of domains and industries, as a banker (ABN-Amro N.V.), as an institutional investor/developer (Edison International), and leading Finance and Legislative Affairs for a BIPV solar manufacturer (Silicon Energy).   John has extensive experience in structuring and managing tax motivated investments in renewable energy (wind, biomass, solar) as well as real estate (low income housing and historic rehabilitation tax credits).

Versatile and responsive to the client’s situation, John has more than two decades of advisory and consulting experience for both domestic and international Projects. Lana SukhodolskaLana Sukhodolska, European operations manager, excels at business development, commercial management, strategy development, investment structuring and valuation of new and existing ventures and projects in sustainable energy and resource management sectors along with market development, policy and regulatory advisory.  She brings robust financial modeling and strategic business analysis skills with numerous successful project financing deliveries.  Lana holds a Masters of Science in financial mathematics from Copenhagen Business School, the University of Copenhagen (KU) and the Technical University of Denmark (DTU), an international MSc degree (English-taught) emphasizing Applied Mathematics, Operations Research and Financial modeling.  She earned her bachelors in Applied Mathematics and Computer Science from National University of “Kyiv-Mohyla Academy” (NaUKMA) in Ukraine.

Ryan SarnataroRyan Sarnataro, senior financial analyst, has 25 years experience in key leadership roles with a wide variety of business operations at various stages of development.  For In3 clients he assists in constructing financial models, and analytic tools used for fundraising, development bank financing and management. He has worked with both greenfield projects and established companies seeking to expand overseas.  Industry experience includes biofuels, biomaterials and waste-to-value, agriculture and natural foods, financial services, and various clean technologies. Over the years, Mr. Sarnataro has also provided management consulting, fundraising and M&A support for US-based companies and has served on a number of corporate and non-profit boards, including 15 years with the Ecological Farming Association where he also filled the position of interim executive director.  [LinkedIn]

Michelle Y. Merrill, Ph.D., International Sustainability Advisor and US Operations Manager, is an expert in international sustainability, systems and complexity, data analytics, teaching and learning, biologically-inspired design, and ecology. Over decades of research, she has worked in Asia and Africa, and become skilled in bridging concepts from diverse disciplines and cultures. She is a published author, an award-winning researcher and educator (more), and an accomplished international speaker. She is a member of an international team conducting research on educating for the UN Sustainable Development Goals (through Sulitest.org). She earned her Ph.D. in Biological Anthropology from Duke University in 2004, and has a B.A. degree in Anthropology from the University of California, Santa Cruz. Nicola EzraNicola Ezra – international finance transaction counsel based in London with over 20 years’ experience in multi-jurisdictional project and leveraged financing, international trade and export finance, corporate banking and restructuring. Nicola has been in practice with leading English and North American law firms and with a major European investment bank. She was also Group Senior Counsel to the main television and broadcasting group in Central and Eastern Europe (Nasdaq / Prague listed) where she has advised on highly innovative multi-sourced structured financings and complex corporate matters.   Nicola’s sector experience includes infrastructure, power and energy, technology, media and telecoms and commodities. She has acted for commercial lenders and multilateral financial institutions, export credit agencies, corporate borrower groups and project sponsors on single and multi-sourced financings in jurisdictions across Central and Eastern Europe, sub-Saharan Africa, the Americas and Asia Pacific, with a predominant emphasis on emerging markets.
