In brief, sustainable agriculture and water management go together as a way to draw down atmospheric carbon and sequester it in soil. In order to reach scale, this would require a radical shift in how mainstream agriculture operates, ushering in new tools and practices that minimizes tillage, builds organic matter into the soil (versus the present practice of sterilizing). There will be a new IPCC study in 2019 with the science behind carbon farming in soil.
